Safety Net is a new group from three Nashville scene mainstays, inspired by the cracked up krautrock of Swell Maps, Aussie DIY, Scottish post-punk, highlights of the Shimmy Disc catalog, etc., all filtered through the members’ hardcore/punk roots. Swapping vocal duties between members and collaboratively shaping the music and structure, Safety Net’s approach to the outer reaches of punk music is what feels most novel.
